Mechanics and Magic
In our lives and business are we not always trying to balance? Mechanics generally win through especially in business as the system is set to a very left brained, ‘masculine’ bias. In a world of competition and reliance on a certain type of growth.
It values, GDP growth, control and legislation. It rewards the ruthless, the lucky or the ones who have it laid on a platter.
Nothing wrong with that other than is that really serving the whole? Try on that this only serves a certain very small percentage of people in society. Most of us accepting mediocre service to the system or worse being cast aside for our differences and difficulties that may well not be our fault. Self-esteem disappears and we further loose faith in ourselves and reduce our ‘abilities’ in subservience.
What if we were to balance towards bringing a bit of magic into the equation?
What is Magic?
Magic is represented by the right brain – the feminine, the creative, the emotionally intelligent. It has been undervalued in society as these things are ‘softer’ and not always respected as being part of the constant growth in the first place even if they are harnessed as such.
Magic values are creativity, consideration and ethics, communication, collaboration and emotional intelligence.
Now this is not a fight between one winning and one loosing – this is indeed a new dance that we can build with in our lives and businesses. To live in balance and bridge from this one world of competition to a new one of balance and collaboration where many thrive in the system rather than just the few, takes a new mindset shift – away from scarcity and limiting beliefs but also a loss of the ego self and giving to a new world where it is not about my thrive-ability but about our thrive-abilty.
So ,what does that take? Trying on a new system, one that is more like the dance that nature plays out, where collaboration is a greater part of the whole than competition is. Sure, there are apex predators in the natural living system, but they do not make up the vast majority.
Try on building in an emergent living system – try on The Ecosystem Incubator. We are building in the fashion industry in the first instance, but by no means is that where we stop, we invite all industry and discipline players to build with the principles too.
Join us on an introduction, especially if fashion is your niche – all players welcome.
